Holding the tire seen edge-on in front of you, pull the front half inward while turning that part so the tread faces you, to make the figure on the right.

Fold the side loops over one another on top of the central loop. This is the way band saw blades are coiled for storage. The three coil pack must be secured to prevent it from springing open again.

As Sheldon shows in his video linked below, it is better to hold the tire at the 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock positions. The tire will then fold without the need to brace it on a knee. -- John Allen
