The Huffy Period

In 1982 Tube Investments (TI) sold the U.S. rights to the Raleigh name to the Huffy Corporation.

Better models from the Huffy era were made in Japan.

Lesser models and later models were from Taiwan.

No more British-made Raleighs were imported to the U.S. from this time forward.

The Huffy deal expired in 1986, and in 1987 Tube Investments sold Raleigh USA to Derby International Corporation, a multinational conglomerate, which is the parent company to this day.
